Some of our domain users are local admins on their own machines, it'd be nice to have a feature whereby we can see who is an admin on each particular machine. I'd think that querying user groups (Administrators, Backup Operators, Power Users etc.) would be a useful addition to the software.

When we scan our network we generally import the full AD and allow all machines to be scanned. If we then remove a machine from the AD and re-import the information into the NIA the old node information is still evident in NIA. Is there a way to have nodes which are no longer in the AD automatically removed from the advisor or is it a case of manually pruning old nodes?

I have added 3 linux machine without issue but cannot add a further machine, when using the machines root login for authentication I receive the error: Connection to SSH server failed with error: 87:997

SSH is installed and enabled, Scanning is done via IP address (static) and does see the machine.

Additionaly the linux nodes I have scanned - I have set a login for the node itself as our domain credentials will not allow access but each time I go to rescan the node I get the error - Unable to use current login, this option has been unticked in settings and the correct details added per node.

Any ideas on either issue?

I was just downloading you're last release (3.95.1722) to see what's up.

On March 15th, I already wrote you a demand about the multiple logins/password, multiple SNMP community, or the possibility to add a credentials store where all logins/password would be saved.

The global network identifier and/or the group identifier should be more than one

Waiting for this "I think" essential feature, I'm disappointed to see that's still missing

The login/password should also appear in a report as a "column"

Thanks to add this feature in the 4.0 version and you will be sure to have a new customer.

It is only an annoyance but I would like to get it cleaned up. Whay is it picking up two and how does it detect virus software? Is it a registry entry? A startup program? A physical file on the hard drive? I've noticed that when scanning machines some of the reported node names are incorrect in the listing tree but correct on the information pages. It seems to be looking at the device IP address scanning the device but associating the IP address with the last device connected.

EG: I have 5 PC's connected to the network and scan each with NIA, I remove one of the machines, lets call it PC2 and plug a new machine PC6 into the same network port that PC2 was attached to. I tell NIA to import data based on a node name and enter the name PC6 - During scanning the dialog box says it is scanning PC2 and completes the scan (PC2 is not online, PC6 is being scanned)

After scanning looking at the network tree on the left hand side I still only have PC1, PC2, PC3, PC4, PC5 - No PC6. Looking at the properties of PC2 it is actually the details for PC6.

So details have been removed from PC2 and replaced by those on PC6 - Even the name in the status page shows as PC6. I've noticed this issue previously but had no details on why it may have happened as I usually do a full AD import.

The issue now is we have over 600 machines inventorised in NIA and we cannot guarantee the data associated to each is correct as PC56 might have the details asociated with PC149 if they were plugged into the same network port during scanning, this poses the issue of licensing as PC149 may have no office installed but PC56 does, querying the system for all office installs will not report on PC56's status as it is associated with data from PC149.

I can upload screenshots of the issue from scanning to reporting if required.

I really love the product firstly, the reporting and functionality are top-notch. I am however experiencing an issue the corruption of the common.xml file, this is the file that is responsible for the rendering of the inventory tree.

From what I can tell the issue happens when the application is running and the computer is restarted. I can restore the file from a backup and the application is fully functional.
