My PC crashed..Reloaded audit software and now when I scan, about half of the computers are not sending me ANY details.
It shows the computer is there and on the network, but nothing about the computer details are showing up.
Is there a setting that needs to be changed? I looked and messed around with the connection settings and still the same thing.
I am using administrator rights and login so it should work.
Everything worked great until my PC crashed..
Thanks
Karen
Ok...now I cannot even scan my own computer and get data.
Something is really wrong here. It is stuck on "gathering user accounts information"
I don't understand. I am an admin & I have rights on our network.
I downloaed the updated version off the website so I have the most current version.
Can someone help me on this?
Karen
I'm sorry for the delay. Can you, please, use the premium support e-mail address next time if you need faster response? Anyway, two points here:
1. I have just e-mailed you the latest beta version to see if it makes any difference in your case.
2. Please, let us know which statuses are reported from those nodes which are not scanned now. Which OS is installed there? Was there any update of the firewalls installed in those nodes? Which scanning method is used?
Thanks
Thanks Jeff..
I downloaded the beta version and I am still getting the same thing.
I scanned one asset that I knew was on and it is not showing details.
I messed around again with the scanning(how it scans) and that didn't help.
We did included software and service in our firewall excepts(we control the firewalls on every computer), so I know that isn't an issue.
If someone can call me, I can go into more detail.
I am an administrator on our network and I used the administrator login.
What doesn't make any sense is it was working just fine before my computer crashed and I got a new one.
I talked to our network admin and he has not made any changes to the firewalls or network.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Karen
Karen, I'll give you a call shortly. Thanks. We will definitely resolve this asap.
Jeff,
I did find out something. The WMI control is not working correctly on the computers not sending back the data.
I checked 3 of the computers and they all have the same errors. If you right click on my computer, manage, services and applications, right click on WMI control.
It says: Failed to initialize all required WMI classes.
I checked mine and 3 other computers and they don't give that error, but of course, mine is scanning correctly.
I checked the error logs on one of the computers and it states it cannot start the DCOM server. We started and stopped the services and that didn't help.
Do you have any idea how we can correct this?
Thanks,
Karen
