Remote nodes timed out

    when doing first new scan of 2012 all my remote sites start scanning ok then its status changes to retrieving installed security software then it times out. this did not used to happen and no changes have been made to our firewalls any advice would be gratefull also tried scanning 1 remote node and same thing gets to 77% and status changes to retrieving installed security software then just hangs

    We are ready to investigate the problem. Please provide us with the following information:

    1. Did you try both scanning methods: agentless and with an agent utility?
    2. Let us know whether the same problem occurs if you scan the troublesome node locally (install Network Inventory Advisor on target computer and press "Scan my PC only button".)

    If the problem persists, please, go to Settings -> Windows Reports tab -> remove "Security & Protection" category -> OK.

    We will be waiting for the test results from you.

    i had it set to use agentles first have changed that to agent and it seems to scan now ok. the agentless method was the way it was set up so dont know why it delays now. while still on agentless i did try the remove "secuity & protection" but then it stalled on collecting installed programs ay ideas on why agentless is now stalling or am i better using agent setting

    It usually takes some time to collect all software inventory data. How long did you wait before closing NIA? Please let us know whether you are inventorying a domain-based network. In any case, we recommend you to perform scan using auto-deploying agent utility.
