When I first purchase NIA maybe a year ago there was a problem in that when it scanned a workstation it would lock up and crash NIA when detecting Trend Micro WFBS 6.X I was sent a patch which resolved the issue (or at least got around the problem) but another issue with Trend popped up. NIA not thinks I have two virus packages installed. "Trend Micro Client/Server Security Agent" and "Trend Micro Security Agent". The "Trend Micro Security Agent" is the bogus one and is always showing up as being disabled.
It is only an annoyance but I would like to get it cleaned up. Whay is it picking up two and how does it detect virus software? Is it a registry entry? A startup program? A physical file on the hard drive? How can I tell how NIA picked up the "Trend Micro Security Agent" and get rid of it showing up in NIA?
Hold on, we'll check what has to be done.
OK, seems like if Network Inventory Advisor is capable of telling you the status of the antivirus app, it gets the details from WMI. Which data do you see in Security Center? If you uninstall Trend Micro's product, what will Network Inventory Advisor come up with after scanning? Sending an exported node after this to help@clearapps.com will help to see a better picture.
Jim, please, see my reply via email.
