*** As a work around I tried installing 3.8 back over the top & this works ok***
** Thinking this might have fixed things I tried 3.9 again with the same result **

    Thanks for your help

    Rich.

So, here's what we can do now:

    1. Go to C:\Program Files\ClearApps\Network Inventory Advisor (or other folder where you installed the software).
    2. Locate the [information] directory there.
    3. Rename it to something like [information_crash].
    4. Launch Network Inventory Advisor and see if it crashes again.
    5. If it does, let us know at help@clearapps.com and we'll go on from there.
    6. If it doesn't, please, zip the renamed folder and email it to us (upload it to somewhere like rapidshare, or other online file sharing service) or let us know and we'll create and FTP account for you on our server. Once we get your [information] folder for investigation, we'll be able to fix the issue in a matter of hours (hopefully).

Thank you so much for reporting this.

Also, have you changed the interface locale in Network Inventory Advisor from the default English one?

    Hi Jeff,

    I have done the following..
    1. Launched NIA 3.8 to verify it works ok - it did.
    2. Updated to 3.9 to verify it fails - it did.
    3. Renamed the [information] folder - NIA 3.9 launches ok but with no assets
    4. Zipped the information folder
    5. Downgraded to 3.8 to check things still work.

I have 4862 assets currently in the network summary & am adding about 3-5 a day, hopefully the only solution will not be to start from a blank [information] folder.

Oh, as far as I am aware the interface locale is still default.

Cool. That simplifies everything. Kim will send you FTP details shortly. Thanks
